Course DescriptionThe Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted in India for admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by National Law Universities (NLUs) and other participating institutions. Undergraduate Law Programs(CLAT UG – 5-Year LL.B.)Educational QualificationCandidates must have passed Senior Secondary Level (10+2) or an equivalent examination. I. Undergraduate Law Programs
(CLAT UG – 5-Year LL.B.)
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary Level (10+2) or an equivalent examination. Students appearing for their Class 12 examination in the year of admission are also eligible, subject to submission of passing proof at the time of admission.
Minimum Marks (Class 12)
- General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI: Minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grade
- SC / ST: Minimum 40% aggregate marks or equivalent grade
Age Limit
There is no age limit for CLAT UG candidates.
Nationality
Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIO, and OCI candidates are eligible to apply.
II. Postgraduate Law Programs
(CLAT PG – LL.M.)
Educational Qualification
Applicants must hold an LL.B. degree (3-year or 5-year integrated program) or an equivalent qualification. Candidates appearing in the final year or semester of their LL.B. program may also apply, subject to verification at admission.
Minimum Marks (LL.B.)
- General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI: Minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade
- SC / ST: Minimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent grade
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for CLAT PG applicants.
Nationality
Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, and OCI candidates are eligible to apply.
